Sankeys announces this weekend will be the last party in Manchester (13/07/2019)

Sankeys has its 25th-anniversary festival coming to its original home of Manchester on Saturday.

Taking place across four stages, the Sankeys Manchester Festival will begin with an outdoor festival stage from 12 PM. Darius Syrossian will headline the stage with a special 4-deck US house set, selecting some of the records that inspired Sankeys to begin. Darius will be joined by Defected’s Sam Divine, Amine Edge & Dance, Hector Couto and Abode’s GW Harrison.

Sadly Team Sankeys have decided this will be the last show in Manchester – they have issued the following statement.

“This Saturday, July 13th sees Sankeys celebrate 25 Years of clubbing in Manchester.

Following the closure of our beloved club in Beehive Mill, Ancoats in January 2017, we have been without a home in our spiritual city.

The Sankeys25 tour will come to an end this Saturday in Manchester at Bowlers Exhibition Centre with a four-stage festival with 20 artists across 18-hours. Not only will this event be the last in the leg of the tour, we will also be winding down our events in Manchester for the foreseeable future.

Following the recent closure of Sankeys Ibiza and the dramatic changes to Manchester’s clubbing landscape in the last five years, we feel now is the right time to close the door on Sankeys in Manchester, and what better way with our own festival and biggest ever event.

We would like to thank every single raver and all Sankeys staff who contributed to the legacy of the club and brand over the last 25 years.

We hope to see you all for one last dance this Saturday. ”
